The instructions say to put this peanut ball between yourself and a flat surface for a trigger point muscle release. I tried standing up and putting this against my back and a wall. Lying on the floor would work to. Then you are supposed to allow the ball to sink into your muscle tissue. At first it felt really uncomfortable, (it is a really hard and heavy ball) but then it did start to release the tightness in my muscles. It is supposed to reduce muscle soreness , reduce tightness and knots, promote increased blood flow and increase flexibility and mobility. It does seem to work. 5 stars.
